Weekday School

The Weekday School provides a quality preschool program for 2, 3, and 4-year-old children for 3 ½ hours a day, September through May.  A class for one-year-olds is available two mornings a week from 9:00-12:00, with one teacher and one parent volunteer.

The Weekday School offers a unique and special ministry to both young children and their parents within our community.  Scholarship assistance is available to families in need.  Scholarships funds are provided through donations from individuals, Sunday school classes, and memorial gifts.

The Weekday School is considered a part of the Mission and Educational ministries of the church.  But while it is Christian-oriented, it is not denominationally sectarian.  We welcome children from the community at large as well as from our own congregation.  All Weekday School staff are professing Christians and are active members of a local church.  It is through their love and care that we seek to teach the children how the love of Jesus affects their own lives and relationships.

In 1999 the Weekday School was accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, indicating the high quality of its program, staff and facilities.  It continues to be a model for other preschool programs.

In the 2009 – 2010 school year, we are serving 68 children and their families, with 11 of that number being members of this congregation.

The Weekday School staff consists of 8 teachers and assistants.  Two of the teachers have degrees in Early Childhood education; 2 assistants are certified teachers; and the others are either college graduates in other fields or have 10+ years of Early Childhood experience.

Further information is available in a brochure at the church or by calling the director, Alice Patton, at 669-2725.
