Property

The Property Committee maintains and repairs the Church physical plant and grounds as efficiently as possible and reports potential future needs to the Session for  consideration.

In addition to the routine maintenance there are often unexpected problems that occur such as leaking frozen pipes; or walls that have to be repainted when paint chips off; or stone walls damaged by the GDS truck; or cutting down dead trees or limbs; or repairing church pews.  These and many other unexpected problems must be dealt with as quickly as possible.

In the past year with money raised in the Dare-to-Dream Centennial Campaign a new roof was installed on the Fellowship Hall and Office area; the decaying front cross-tie wall was replaced with a stone wall; a Centennial plaque was installed on the tower; and a new electronic Carillon was installed in the Bell Tower.  With money still left from the Dare-to-Dream campaign and other memorial gifts, new carpeting has now been installed in the Narthex and office area.

It is hoped that volunteers from the congregation will step forward this year to help repair routine items, perform building maintenance, and assist in the upkeep of the grounds.  A list for volunteers to sign up for various chores will be available soon in the Narthex.

Co-chairs of the Property Committee for 2010 are Steve Roberts and Anne Cooper.
