Frank and Nancy Dimmock have been PCUSA missionaries since 1985. The first 6 years of their ministry were in Lesotho, after which they were assigned to Malawi for 16 years. In the summer of 2007 they returned to Lesotho (Lee-SOO-too).  Frank is the first missionary to be named “Africa Health Liaison” which requires him to travel frequently to Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Zambia, South Africa, Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo. He works with partner churches and ecumenical agencies to develop programs for vulnerable children. In addition, he coordinates the Christian Health Associations of Africa and is an advisor to the Christian Health Association of Lesotho.

Frank earned a BS in botany and zoology at NC State and an MPH in epidemiology and tropical medicine from Tulane University School of Public Health in New Orleans.  Frank is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Albert E. Dimmock, long-time members of this church, now deceased, and is the brother of Mrs. Ellen Begley.

Nancy has mainly ministered through her support of Frank and through her home. They have 2 birth children and 6 adopted children. Upon receiving her BS Degree in Animal Science at NC State Univ., Nancy worked as a ranch hand in Nebraska and then served in the Peace Corps in Lesotho as a livestock manager. She then received a Masters Degree in Technology for International Development from NC State and has been recognized as the “local vet” throughout her missionary career. However her main focus has been on the children of Africa, and she founded the Crisis Nursery in Lilongwe, Malawi. Since their move to Lesotho, she has gotten involved with a Crisis Nursery/orphanage and is working with the Lesotho government to establish adoption guidelines.  Nancy is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. David Miller of our congregation.
