Congo Hymnbook Project

A dream came true for young people in the Democratic Republic of Congo on Friday, September 4, 2009,  when a new hymnbook, Cantiques de Grâce, was presented to Presbyterian educational leaders at the beginning of this new school year.

Part of our centennial “Dare to Dream” campaign in 2008, the project was  initiated and carried through by the Protestant Printing House of the Kasai (IMPROKA) under the leadership of its director, Elder Simon Ntumba, and Pastor Lazare Tshibuabua, Stated Clerk of Kananga Presbytery.

In addition to the $5,000 “Dare to Dream” contribution, members of the Biblical Perspectives Class contributed $1,185 in unsolicited gifts for the Palm tree development project that Elder Ntumba has launched to assure some income for the IMPROKA program.
